Spaniards are extremely proud of their regional identities which include food, music and language but they also exult in the glorious combination of these which makes their combined culture exquisitely diverse.

The Spanish people are endowed with exceptional good looks and they like to look outstanding always. They like to dress up and make their surroundings beautiful. The passionate romanticism of the Spanish, which perhaps stems from their Arab heritage is reflected in their music and dance, like the Flamenco. Spaniards and also devout people which is evident from the proliferation of magnificent places of worship all over Spain, their multitude of saints and their festivals dotting the calendar. The Spanish people are also very inquisitive and exploratory, evinced by their great colonial past.

The art and architecture of Spain, as can be expected, is an unbridled celebration of the great and diverse influences on the Spanish psyche and ethos. Grandiose cathedrals and palaces, comparatively austere monasteries and exquisitely laid out gardens and squares, drawing on Gothic, Renaissance, Classical and Neo Classical elements. The sometimes quirky and dreamy but always stylish and sophisticated Spanish sensibilities gave rise to the great Modernista movement in art and architecture, crowned by the magnificent La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.

Finally, Spaniards are a sophisticated, modern people who, despite being gloriously different from their Western European neigbours, blend in perfectly into their European identity.
